A patient of a mental hospital, under the 'guidance' of his imaginary friend, breaks out to escape the path of an oncoming apocalyptic warm front.
2. Why did you decide to write this screenplay?
The idea had been knocking around in my head forever, so I finally decided to write it out...
3. How long have you been writing screenplays?
Since high school; my English teacher was pretty hip to the idea and encouraged me.
4. What is your favorite MOVIE of all-time (name only one and explain why it's on top)?
In all seriousness, The Love Bug... the '68 original. I can watch it a thousand times and never get sick of it.
5. What artist in the industry would you love to work with?
Terrence Malick.
6. Who was your hero growing up?
Fozzie Bear. He's determined to be a stand up comic despite everyone hating his jokes. Even as a kid I saw the bravery in that.
7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?
A little smarter, a little nicer, but with a rocket car.
8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?
When I'm writing, I usually end up strung out on coffee and cigarettes at 4 in the morning, but that's when I get my best work done.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
Drawing, painting, working on cars, and playing guitar.
10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?
I thought the chance to get real feedback was fantastic; it'd be nice to hear thoughts and opinions from people that don't know who I am and are just being nice...
11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
Write as often as you can, and never disregard anything; even if you're not in the mood to write, do it anyway. You might think it stinks, but months from now you may pick it up and it'll inspire you in a whole new way.
