Wildcard Pictures
A Vision for the Future

Wildcard Pictures

Wildcard Pictures sprang to life in September 2005, and immediately got underway to prove that hard work and a commitment to excellence are the keys to success. In just eighteen months, Wildcard has been responsible for more than a half-dozen films, and is gearing up for a feature in the near future.

Right now it's about growing our website and our film/screenplay festival that's geared for filmmakers/storytellers at all levels. Our mandate is to make sure artists in this industry get their work out to the largest crowd possible. And then earn enough acclaim so they can continue to create on other projects and grow as an artist.

For us, it's all about growing, learning to improve our skills and develop our grammar. We want to meet other filmmakers from around the world - because we love to make movies, and watch movies, and talk about movies...

"All of life's riddles are answered in the movies."
from Grand Canyon (Lawrence & Meg Kasden)

What makes a good film? For one thing, practise, practise, practise.

But it's storytelling that's at the heart of every film. Storytelling comes down to that magical amalgam of plot, character, and theme that's so easy to talk about and so hard to achieve. Every film is its own minor miracle, a rare planetary alignment, a moment of absolute synchronicity.

It's also darned hard work.

Most recently, Wildcard shot a film for Bravo TV entitled THE YARD SALE, which is currently airing . It stars Sora Olah of SunTV's "Street Eats" and rising star Jeff Pangman, and was penned by Red Green Show writer Shaun Graham.

WILDsound Feedback Film Festivals and WILDsound Screenplay Reading Series are initiatives of Wildcard Pictures Corp.
