Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Warren Wilensky graduated from Columbia College USA with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Cinema. In 1994 Warren wrote and directed his first feature film entitled THE CAGE The award winning film went on to participate in numerous international film festivals around the world. In 1996, the critically acclaimed film screened on SABC channel 3.
In 2001, Warren moved to Toronto Canada, chasing the illusive funding for his first full-length feature film. In Canada he has production managed and production coordinated various feature films and television shows. He also worked in an advisory capacity as Director of Development for Cinemavault Releasings, an international sales and distribution company. Warren was Associate Producer of IF ONLY YOU WERE ME, a reality television show produced for the Global Network. He is scheduled to direct PURPLE RINSE which has had funding from Astral Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund, Telefilm Canada and Movie Central. Paul Scherzer and Six Island Productions are producing the film.
Warren has had his screenplay PURPLE RINSE read at the WILDsound Screenplay Reading Event of July 2007.
