It’s the battle of the sexes this week on Glee. Will believes the blub has become complacent heading into Nationals, and decides to motivate them by splitting the group into boys and girls, pitting the sides against each other in a musical mashup competition. Meanwhile, Terri becomes the school nurse after a little manipulation from Sue, to try and prevent Will and Emma from spending time together. However, her presence throws everything off balance for Will, and she begins to treat students with over-the-counter drugs. While some of the musical numbers and light humor were overshadowed by the dramatic content, Vitamin D was still an entertaining episode.
Pitting the boys against the girls was bound to happen at some point in the series, glad it’s out of the way now. The competition provided some really exhilarating musical performances on both sides. Exhausted by school and extracurricular activities, Finn seeks some help from the new nurse, Terri, but her methods are less than unconventional, they’re illegal. She gives Finn pseudoephedrine, and pleased with the effects, Finn gives it to the rest of the boys.
Quinn starts to feel the pressure from Sue, who notices that her star cheerleader is not quite herself these days and is a bit sluggish during practice. But Quinn quickly blames it on the Glee club, arguing that her time there is starting to take its toll. Now Sue is even more determine to bring the club down, and luckily, she may have her chance. By the end of the episode, principal Figgins decides to hire Sue as the co-director of the club, after pseudoephedrine debacle. This is Will’s worst nightmare. To matter even worst, Quinn decides to give her baby to Terri. Again the pregnancy storyline continues, and now with this recent development, appears far from over. Not good.
Needless to say, this episode was actually pretty solid. The musical numbers were engaging and fun, and the twist at the end with Sue becoming co-director should make for some hysterical moments later to come. Glee continues a stream of enjoyable episodes that appear to get and get with each one. Good, because I really do like this show.
