Tom Coatsworth's life resembles the exterior of the ROM -- a staid predictable start with an imagination that could not be contained -- exploding in mid-life into a frenzy of acting, writing, theatre, and filmmaking.
Born and raised on a farm which he still works with family -- he started writing at seven and gave it up for hockey. It was much safer -- they beat you up for reading on busses. As he grew larger he became a good bluff and took up the book again. He's written several plays, screenplays, books of stories and poems. He's been published in journals and newspapers; is a critically acclaimed actor, director and set designer. At age 43 he looked in the mirror and saw a filmmaker. Several years and many courses later he is one.
His film 'Remember' won "Best Achievement" at The Peter Gerretsen Film Awards in 2007.
