A patient gets some dreaded news, but not as he expected.
2. Why did you decide to write this screenplay?
I wanted to try something that would work as both a comedic and bittersweet moment.
3. How long have you been writing screenplays?
I've been dabbling with scripts, on and off, since my college days back in the early 90's. But it's really been in the last couple of years that I've started to seriously work at it.
4. What is you all-time favorite film? (name only one)
If I have to pick just one it would have to be "Miller's Crossing". Every character is just so well written. 5. What artist in the film industry would you love to work with?
Jessica Alba's married now, right? In that case, I'd say Simon Pegg.
6. How many screenplays have you written?
If we're talking full-length screenplays, then I'd say about one and a half. Smaller scripts, I'm not sure - I'd have to rifle through the file cabinet to find them all.
7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?
I would love to make the transition from hobby to career by then. Or at least the hope of a career.
8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?
I'm still trying to find "the" routine for me. One thing I've found is that I need either silence or soft instrumental music - I can't write if the TV or radio is on.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
I'm a tech-head at heart. I actually build my computers piecemeal rather than buying a pre-built system. There's something soothing to me about the process.
10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound One Page Script Contest?
I wanted to meet the challenge of writing something in only one page that made for a complete scene. My friend Sam was also a huge influence - I definitely fed off her enthusiasm during this process.
11. Why should people VOTE for your One Page Screenplay and turn it into a film?
I think my script would make for a pretty decent film - albeit a short one. Their votes would let me know that maybe I'm not so bad at this writing thing after all.
And I'd *really* like to see my name on the screen...
