My life is a life wasted on, I mean devoted to film. I am The Movie Whore but how did I get this way?

It all started the first time I remember seeing a movie. The movie was Star Wars and I was hooked. Ever since then I have loved watching movies. I always watched them for the same reason. I wanted to be entertained.

I found at an early age that there were a lot of movies being made out there that I was not hearing about. Before I even knew what an independent film was or how Hollywood worked I was a fan of indy flicks.

The problem with being a fan of indy flicks is that many of them suck just as bad or worse than some of the crap Hollywood puts out. So you find yourself watching a lot of horrendous movies just to find those rare gems that no one has ever heard of and you get to share it with people. There is nothing more satisfying for a movie whore than turning someone on to an entertaining movie. Of course this practice leads the movie whore to be infected with gonorrhea of the eye because of all the bad cinema you subject yourself to. I myself keep a bottle of penicillin in eye drop form next to my chair.

So one day a couple years ago I was telling a buddy about a film I had seen that was truly atrocious and he looked at me and said "You sir are a whore, no you are the biggest movie whore."

The Movie Whore was born and it is how I have identified myself as such since. I still subject myself to more bad movies than most people realize even exist. My desire of what i want from a film has not changed either. I still want to be entertained. I am much more interested on entertainment value than how well the movie was made. I like good movies and love great ones but I really do not care one bit what a critic has to say about movie. Really some the movies that the critics love are the ones that put me right to sleep. The movies a critic hates, to me, are much more entertaining.

When I am not providing commentary on film and the film industry, I am working with my partners Kim Johansen and Marco Alvarez of Last Rockstar Productions. We are currently working on a script for what will become our first feature length movie. I have also picked up several side gigs as consultant for a few small no budget filmmakers. My goal is a simple one. Make movies that people not only want to see, but want to see again and again. I work with original concepts and stories. Until then I keep scouring the video stores looking for that next gem that everyone over looked.
