The Mist
MOVIE REVIEWS
Directed by Frank Darabont
Starring Thomas Jane and Marcia Gay Harden

SYNOPSIS:

Following a violent thunderstorm, artist David Drayton (Thomas Jane) and a small town community come under vicious attack from creatures prowling in a thick and unnatural mist. Local rumors point to an experiment called the 'The Arrowhead Project' conducted at a nearby top-secret military base, but questions as to the origins of the deadly vapor are secondary to the group's overall chances for survival. Retreating to a local supermarket, Drayton and the survivors must face-off against each other before taking a united stand against an enemy they cannot even see.

Robert's Review

"The Mist" works really well as both a creature-feature and as a human end-of-the-world drama. The acting reminded me of a Sci-Fi channel original movie… it was good, but not great… but it worked because all of the characters were just normal people living through some very extraordinary circumstances and having to come to grips with what was going down. The human side of the story was really scary and the crazy preacher lady (played by Marcia Gay Harden) who was trying to convert the survivors and make them see her as God's disciple… she scared the heck out of me! Also, I loved the drama between the characters who refused to believe in what was going on and the others who finally came to grips with everything. Now, as a creature-feature…"The Mist" has some really cool monsters… things of pure nightmare! Overall, this was a very creepy and fun movie to watch and I'd highly recommend it to everyone who loves horror and scary movies. Oh, and watch out for a really cool twist towards the end… bwahahaha!

All in all, I'd give this movie 3.5 Arrowhead Projects (out of 5). Re-watch value: MEDIUM
