I heard my heart pounding against my chest,
as I turned and looked away,
you were hoping that I stay,
and form with you a lovely nest.
How but I tried to calm my heart,
and not leave you so alone,
but it was not written in stone,
and our love we had to stop.
Your father an angry man was he,
as he had promised you to another,
gold coins, silks, diamonds and rubies,
all was he to gain and recover.
But that man you did not love,
how can your father do this to you?
He waved you away from above,
as he said, “I love you, I really do.”
A marriage should not be arranged,
this I believe and certainly care,
it will only fill you with despair,
and leave you feeling so strange.
Marriage
is but a title on paper,
this
as much I have learned,
for
the heart you have to earn,
or
you will lose everything later.
A
coward I am as I walk away,
as
you cried 'cause you didn't know,
for
I am not a man I'm gay,
and
your man was my very own.
He walks inside that church divine,
and you hold his hands so tight,
'cause you know that his heart is
mine,
and he sleeps with me every night.
