SYNOPSIS:
The story follows a young woman as she's put through a psychological journey under the thumb of a mysterious figure who suspects her husband of stealing millions from a crime syndicate.
I can hear droplets of water falling, fading into darkness. Pain sears through my side, but the numbness of morphine is the spider slowly walking across my veins. His demands are impossible to answer, and there is no way out. He now hovers over me, and I can see his face. And now that I know him, I know he will kill me.
I loved him with all my heart. We shared six years of happiness, and our life held no secrets. And then they came, telling me that my family was nothing more than a front, and I was nothing but collateral damage. And before I die, I would have to surrender him, the man I loved, but all these years, I was the one living a lie. And all this time, I thought I knew him, but I was wrong.
My fate rests in his hands, and only he can save my son. I struggle to escape, but he threatens my boy. But if I help him, would he let my child live? Would my son ever forget the man that held me prisoner, made me disappear, or would he find him one day and exact his revenge? He can't save me, but maybe I could save my child. And maybe the one that now holds a gun to my head would heed my words and grant me my freedom, but what if he has no choice but to pull the trigger?
Water rains down over Jamie. Pain rips through her body, but she struggles to stand. Darkness creeps over her, and her eyes try to focus. And she finds herself trapped, held hostage in a deadly game, and her fate rests with the shadow standing behind the door. But would he set her free?
His demands were ludicrous, but he wasn't taking no for an answer. Her attempts to escape could not slip past his eagle eye, and his touch was cold, painful. But something else glinted behind those dark eyes. There was something about the way he looked at her through his mask, but his cruel acts quickly covered his true emotions. And then he removed his disguise, and she saw the gun in his hand.
She struggled to gain the upper hand, survive this deadly game, and then she finally found her ace. And he gave in to her demands, but she knew her life was over. And then they came, but would the truth she found save her? Would the man that she thought she knew be her white knight in shining armor, or did her fate rest with her captor, who struggled to save her? The door was open now, but her life was gone. And her fate fell into hands no longer bound.
We open that door, and we let them into our lives. We give them our trust, our love, and we promise to remain loyal. But how can you trust the one you love when everything you know is a lie? How can you love a stranger that would end your life? Would we see the signs before finding ourselves trapped, caught in their deadly game? Could we save ourselves, or would it be too late? And if we must surrender, disappear, could we take them down with us, and as Jamie stared at the man, who vowed to love her till death do them part, the gun went off. And darkness fell around The Betrayed.
