Rosario Dawson and Jamie King have been in talks with creator and co-director Frank Miller about Sin City 2. Miller as reportedly penned the script and pushing forward now for a 2009 start.
Watchmen sets records before opening
It didn't top the Dark Knight in terms of pre-sales, but Watchmen has the honor of being the first R-rated film to open on 3,611 screens. That's more than any other R-rated film in history topping even the sci-fi hit of the Matrix sequels. Furthermore, the film took in an estimated 4.6 million from opening screenings alone. Given it's large runtime, it's likely the film will have a good chance at breaking records because that will limit the number of showings that can be squeezed in.
Hugo Weaving has voiced Megatron for Transformers 2
Hugo Weaving has confirmed he's back as Megatron for Transformers 2. He was supposed to keep it a secret but let it out of the bag anyway. Fans have speculated his and the characters return to actually join along side the autobots to take down The Fallen but Michael Bay has responded on his forum with a confirmation of the inclusion of Megatron, but only for flashbacks involving the origin of the Primes. However, Bay has distinctly said himself that false information would be leaked all throughout the time leading up to the release of the film in order to keep fans on their toes during their first viewings. So you never know....
Smallville renuewed for a 9th season
Which pretty much kills rumors of Tom Welling leaving the show and causing it to end. It's assumed that main cast members Welling, Allison Mack, Erica Durance and Shawn Ashmore will remain on but as far as Cassidy Freeman and Justin Hartley are unsure. In my opinion, this is good as it will most likely be the final season of the show and the focus should soley be on Superman. But it's nice to know Michael Rosenbaum is contracted to return to the show for it's final few shows under the clause that he doesn't have to shave his head and can sport the bald cap.
Fanboys comes to DVD May 19th
After getting the slap in the face of the limited release, the garunteed soon to be cult hit "Fanboys" will be released on DVD. The film follows several teenagers on a quest to steal a print of Star Wars Episode 1 before it premieres to make sure a friend stricken with cancer will get to see it. The film was highly anticipated by it's target audience from Comic convention panels and screenings, but was later heavily re-shot/edited to remove the cancer angle by the ignoramic studio heads. Real life fanboys protested this move and the original plot was resumed.
