"From Close Encounters of the Third Kind - the first film I saw at the cinema - to those lurid posters for 'dodgy' films just out of reach down my local video shop in the early eighties like Zombie Flesh Eaters, Driller Killer or Galaxy of Terror, I've always been drawn to film. And like a lot of people of the 'original' Star Wars generation, it was movies like The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark or Back to the Future which I really enjoyed. These were the films I grew up with.
However, anything from Chinatown to Office Space to The Thing to Eat Drink Man Woman to Sonatine to the recent Star Trek and The Hurt Locker is good to my mind. For me though the best writing is probably on USTV in shows like Dexter, Californication, Entourage, Mad Men, Family Guy or Lost."
