Steven Passmore makes his major credit debut in the film community as the writer, and co-producer of the 2009 dark narrative drama “PRICKS”. Passmore was trained as a screenwriter at the University of Nevada, under the tutelage of Professor Sean Clark (Northern Exposure). Through his diverse background, education, experience and travels Passmore offers a unique perspective to the film industry, and does not hesitate to explore controversial issues in a poignant fashion. He strives to generate thought provoking screenplays that can evoke a myriad of emotions, yet are highly conceptually driven. Born and raised in Dunnville, Ontario, but currently a resident of the Niagara region, Passmore has a strong sense of community, and family, hence “PRICKS” was produced under the moniker of “Smalltown Pictures” in association with the St. Catharines based production company “Backlot Rebels”.
Passmore has been fortunate to gain experience on several professional film productions in the art department, or as an extra. In addition to his work in independent cinema Passmore is a clinical research scientist, and the proud husband of his intellectual and creative equal, Cheryl.
