My TV pilot is about a dysfunctional group of lawyers who must avoid becoming the next victim of the office serial killer.
2. Why did you decide to write this screenplay?
Being a former lawyer, I felt I could offer an original voice to a precinct that I understand well. In a world where selfishness, cowardice, spite and cold ambition are celebrated; where the bosses hate the employees and the employees hate themselves, I thought it would be fun to see whether a group of callous, acid-tongued lawyers would be capable of change even when confronting a murderer.
3. How long have you been writing screenplays?
5 years
4. What is your favorite TV show of all-time?
The Office (British version), The West Wing, NYPD Blue.
5. What artist in the industry would you love to work with?
I would love to meet some of those TV giants - Steven Bochco, David Milch, David E. Kelley etc.
6. Who was your hero growing up?
***********
7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?
A seasoned and valued staff writer in LA.
8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?
I do everything in my power to avoid writing. When I run out of excuses, I write down some character notes and series/episode outlines. I will then let the story float around my head for a few weeks. If it still feels right after that, I can usually knock out a first draft pretty fast.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
I am not very good at "passionate". I'm better at mild disappointment.
10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?
It is one of the few contests that give TV spec and pilot scripts the proper recognition.
11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
