You're listening an interview from WILDsound radio with Sean and Chris Pagonis on Monday July 7 2008Sean Foster came aboard as Director of The Oak Tree, bringing some new ideas to the piece such as incorporating computer-generated elements. It was writer and Art Director Chris Pagonis’ vision to make a stop motion animated film as the final assignment in college. This also allowed Chris to focus on creating the characters and practical sets featured in the film.
Sean was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1982 but spent most of his formative years growing up in small town southern Ontario. Always with his head in the clouds, Sean would spend possibly an unhealthy amount of time watching movies and television shows and when there was nothing on TV, Sean would begin coming up with his own stories to tell. At age 20 he moved to Toronto to attend Humber College where he’d spend the next three years in a Film & TV program.
Sean loves the art of filmmaking, experimenting with the different aspects of the field and has spent much time dabbling with cinematography, editing, sound design, etc. But it is screenwriting in particular that Sean is attracted to. Sean has spent much of his time since graduating from Humber in 2007 writing various screenplays he hopes to one day see become more than just a document on his computer.
Sean currently works in the reality TV industry at Nextfilm Productions in Toronto. It’s not a glamorous job, but it affords Sean the free time to pursue screenwriting, plus, it pays the bills.
Sean's film THE OAK TREE played at the WILDsound Film Festival in July 2008
