Saman Deilamani grew up in Tehran, Iran where the rich history and the culture of storytelling and art influenced his early interests in writing, music, photography and cinema. He also spent many hours day-dreaming, inventing imaginary machines and looking at passerby on the street trying to imagine their lives.
After moving to Canada, he started his studies in Architecture and further pursued his interest in photography. In both disciplines, he shows an attempt to tell a story through framing momentary experiences, either with space or light. These were his motivations to experiment with cinematography and directing.
Saman Deilamani and Paul Kurti met while studying architecture at Ryerson University in Toronto. The many hours they spent discussing films showed a similar passion for cinema and the desire to create something meaningful. It was only natural that "Change" presents a film that, although experimental, follows many themes that they both feel passionate about. The experience brought a greater understanding of their strengths and creative potential that continues leading them to their future collaborations.
