Unlike most filmmakers, Sam Molleur does not speak of himself in the third person. Sam recently graduated from Emerson College studying film and music. In other words, he learned how to make things people can look at and hear and hopefully appreciate. ?Since his birth in 1984, Sam has directed a handful of music videos for Boston-based bands such as The Everyday Visuals, The Black Tie Affair, The Bon Savants and Taxpayer. ?He has also written and directed several short films and videos that have gained him recognition all around North America. Before graduating high school, Sam won the Grand Prize at the Maine Student Film and Video Festival for his video, "The Drive Home." ?His films have been screened at the Woods Hole Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, California Independent Film Festival, Winnipeg International Film Festival, the Maine International Film Festival and others.
Before he graduated, Sam was selected as a semi-finalist in MTVU's nationwide Best Filmmaker on Campus contest. His short video, "Drawn with Lines" was a featured video on MySpace.com, Film of the Week on MTVU and winner of the Best Picture award at Emerson's Latent Image Film Festival. In his limited free time, Sam is also an inventor, adventurer and sometimes even a songwriter.
