Ryna Schickler Bio



Ryna Schickler was born and raised in Montreal where at age nine she first started performing on stage with The Children’s Theatre. She continued to perform in theatre until attending Concordia University’s Communication Arts program. After university Ryna moved to Toronto and worked successfully assisting producers and directors for commercials, t.v. series, MOW’s and feature films. She also created her own television projects and had several story ideas produced for television including the Disney Channel.

Six years ago Ryna returned to her first passion – acting. She has been busy performing in film, theatre and tv ever since. Many of the films she has appeared in have gone on to wide screen theatre, television (TMN, Showcase) and many Canadian and international film festivals (including receiving awards). Some of her film credits include The Truth About Standing Still, Indiscretions, Pros & Cons, Goldirocks, The End Of Silence, Close To Home and Blue Rain. Some theatre credits include The Vic (Column 13 Actors Co.), The Vagina Monologues (Jane Mallet Theatre), Balm In Gilead (Column 13 Actors Co.), The Man Who Came To Dinner (Theatre Cambridge), In My House (Artword Theatre) and Every Night’s Hot At The Va Va Voom (Factory Theatre – Summerworks). Currently Ryna is in rehearsals for the play In Arabia We’d All Be Kings with the Column 13 Actors Company. She is also scheduled for a feature film to start shooting in May. As well, Ryna continues to create tv projects and is presently developing an hour long tv series.
