Ryan Ward Bio

Primarily an actor by trade, Ryan is originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba where he studied at the University of Manitoba before relocating to Toronto to join the actor training program at Ryerson University, from which he holds a BFA. He has worked in both the US and Canada.

Stage credits include Evil Dead The Musical (OffBroadway / JustForLaughsComedyFestival), Place To Be: The Nick Drake Project (TorontoUndergroundRenaissance), Fusion (DNATheatre), Crazy Gary’s Mobile Disco (BuddiesCabaret), A Funny Thing Happened…, Big Love, The Laramie Project (RyersonTheatre / directed by Ted Dykstra / Eda Holmes / Marianne MacIsaac).

Film and TV credits include Sidekick (VictoryManProds.), The Little Guide To Haircuts And Follicular Manipulation (ExplodingMotorCar / Winner Best Short Film - Toronto Short Film Fest), Nature Of Wildlife (ExplodingMotorCar / Winner 2007 Toronto Film Challenge), Forsaken (GalloroProds.), Bioexis (MarchEntertainment), Squeezebox (TheBreathProds.).

Ryan has his own film company Reborn Films (www.rebornfilms.com) for which he has written and directed 2 short films Rebirth and The Fighter which have screened at various film festivals in the US and Canada (Canadian Filmmakers, Beverly Hills, Montreal World, Big Muddy, Tromadance, Rutgers University, Shockerfest, Uber Con, NY Film Fest). He has also written, performed and toured his own plays, Wurn and Nocturnal Musical throughout Canada, Nocturnal Musical was named ‘Most Innovative Production’ by the Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival.

Ryan chooses not to write reviews for films he does not like for fear of sounding like a know-it-all.
