RY RUSSO-YOUNG
Ry Russo-Young grew up in Downtown Manhattan. Her first feature film ORPHANS premiered at the 2007 SXSW film festival where it won a special jury award. Ry's short film, MARION, an homage to PSYCHO, won the Jury Award for best experimental short at the 2006 SXSW film festival, at the 2005 International Chicago Film Festival and at the Potenza film festival in Italy. In 2006, Ry produced and directed a series of short films about neighborhoods and landmarks in New York City for the Discovery Channel and www.Turnhere.com. In 2007, Ry worked on artist Doug Aitken's large-scale film installation SLEEPWALKERS commissioned by MoMA and Creative Time.
