Romeo Ciolfi

Romeo Ciolfi grew up creating stories and watching movies. During his adolescence, he worked with his brothers producing over twenty 8mm silent film shorts which they would, write, direct, act and edit – a Ciolfi Brothers tradition.

Born in Welland, Ontario, it was in high school where he began writing plays and acting in them. After graduating, he moved to Toronto to study at York University where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Screenwriting and Playwriting. The York campus provided ample opportunity for him to write his own plays and stage them.

Post graduation, Romeo’s concentration has been on perfecting the craft of screenwriting while still directing and performing in the odd play. In November 2007, he was seen in Eastside Players Some Assembly Required and come this summer his original play Blue will be staged.

In the past several years he has entered his film scripts into various screenplay contests across North America. Home has placed in the following contests: Top 10% of the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting (out of 6000 entries), semi-finalist in both American Accolades and Page International Screenwriting Awards, Top 30 in WriteMovies and Top 5 in the FilmMakers International Screenwriting Awards.
