Rane Wallin currently lives in Northern Nevada, but has lived all over the US. She also spent a year in Germany, working as an Au Pair, where she studied the life of Ludwig II.
Rane's first screenplay, originally titled Gypsies: The Forgotten, about the plight of Romanies (Gypsies) during the Holocaust was the inaugural winner of the WriteSafe contest. A current draft of the same screenplay, with the new title The Devouring, is presently a contender for the 2007 Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting, where it recently advanced to theSemifinal round. Another screenplay she wrote, a sci-fi thriller called Mind Games, is a previous SlamDance Semifinalist and just finished the 2007 Nicholl Fellowship in the top 15%.
In 2003, Rane decided to take some time off from screenwriting toconcentrate on her poetry and short fiction writing. Ace in the Hole was Rane's first script after she began writing screenplays again last year.
She has recently returned to school to study film and hopes to both write and direct in the future. She is also interested in writing for television.
Rane is currently a member of 5150, an invitation-only screenwriting group run by former Nicholl fellow Max Adams.
