Rajiv Surenda BIO

Rajiv Surenda - Actor

Rajiv Surendra was born and raised in Toronto and has been involved with the arts before he learned how to talk. He attended a special-arts high school, Wexford School for the Arts, and specialized in painting, sculpting and pottery. Winner of several awards including everything from Gingerbread House competitions to Wearable-Art contents, Rajiv's interests are quite diverse and range from keeping chickens in his backyard to developing and processing his own photographs. His interests shifted to the performing arts in high school and he joined the musical theatre program where he participated in numerous shows.

Taking his newfound craft to another level, Rajiv began to pursue a professional career in acting and landed a lead role in YTV's System Crash (1999-2001). His more recent credits include guest starring on Family Channel's 'Radio Free Roscoe' and his breakout role in Paramount Pictures' 'Mean Girls' was well received by critics. Rajiv played the “scene-stealing” role of Kevin-the mathlete-Gnapoor which has since earned him an unexpected legion of fans. His latest project to date was 'Six Feet in Seven Minutes', a short film produced as a thesis film by an NYU student, Rafael del Toro. Rajiv starred in the short which has screened at over forty-five film festivals world-wide and has received over ten awards.

A firm believer in the importance of education, Rajiv is currently attending the University of Toronto and is studying Art-history and Classics.
