REVIEW:

We fear what we do not understand. We desire the simplicities of life not its complexities, and our comfort zone lies within the perfect, glass bubble. Anything that cannot fit in our mold threatens to break the world apart, and our fear denies us from change. Our minds slam closed, blind to difference, and we destroy what we refuse to accept.

A storm is coming. I can sense her fury at a world that left me out in the cold. Her anger flashes across the sky, and I fear that she might even strike me. Her roar shakes the very ground that I struggle to stand on, but their fear turned me away. And I walk on in this pouring rain, trying to reach a home no longer there, and I am lost. I am lost to a world that refuses to see me for what I really am.

Nobody can choose destiny for it chooses you, and no one has any control over the life given to them. We can decide to hide away from the world, or we could try and live as we are. But would we be accepted or ridiculed for being different? Would we find ourselves hunted, outcasts to be locked away forever? Could we ever learn to accept different, allowing those not of the ordinary to live a regular life, or do we let fear control our actions?

The world was beyond fascination, but I was the main attraction. My white skin glistened under the warm sun, catching their attention. My intelligence fell under skepticism, and my potential fed their fear. And only by accident do I reveal what I really am, changing a life in the process, but now I am being viewed more as a threat than one trying to live a life like everyone else.

In an act of ridicule, another nearly loses his life, but I save him. But it’s too late. The damage is already done, and a storm is brewing. And I run. I run as far as I can go, but the lives that I had forever changed follow in my footsteps. And as they cry out to me, lightning strikes, and destiny releases me.

We fear what we do not understand, and our fear creates movies such as Starman, Control, and Dragonfly. The mysteries of life strikes the chords of drama as some reach out to touch the unexplainable, but in others, tension coils back, ready to strike. And the story of one life dives deep into conflict, struggling to find acceptance, but is the world ready for them? Or do we retreat to normality, refusing to accept different, and reject those not of the ordinary? Do we remain blind to the intricate lines of change that follow in their wake? The conflict between understanding and denial echoes deeply in a storyline that truly captures your heart, and the entity of drama shines its light over the life of one man known as Powder.
