Poem Dedication
Dedication takes me back to London Ontario in the heady summers of an early apartment from which it was a bare two minute stroll down a tree-lined street to the best little coffee shop in the world where Marjorie roasted beans that smelled like heaven and let me sit with my notebook as long as I wanted...
picked a white starflower for Marjorie held cradled in my fist only could steal one or the neighbours would notice
she smelled crinkled nose & even in the coffee shop burnt roast over every surface she evoked pictures scents sounds cackle of an unseen bird huge silence heat of this flower transposed translated to South America in the heart of the rainforest
