SYNOPSIS:
What seemed like a breezy idea for an engineer to net him millions of dollars, leaves him on the run for his life and piecing together why he's being chased.
There is no fate but what we make, but what if there was no fate to save us from what we would do? The future is an uncertain realm that we struggle to understand, and what we do in the past would determine our end. The faster our thirst for control, technology, and power grows, the closer we arrive to our destruction, to our worst fears come true. There would be no turning back the clock, no saving fate, and no blame to be passed because we did this. We are destined for great potential, but we are also our own worst enemy. And if it were not you to end this world, it would be me.
His beautiful mind would be his undoing. His brilliance of technology would land opportunity in his lap, but he thought his sacrifice would only be a few years of his life. And memory flashed away, and he was left with a blank slate and a gun to his head. And for him to live, he would have to recapture the past, but as he struggles to pull pieces of the puzzle together, the future remains grim. And there is no escaping fate.
Dreams of wealth washed away all doubts, and Michael Jennings signed on the dotted line. His life now laid in their hands, and for the next couple of years, he would do what he was asked. And when he walked away, he would forget the past and embrace a rich future, but all those dreams fade under the veil of destruction. And his greatest accomplishment would be the dial spinning the world into its end.
Unaware of his pending fate, he tried to claim his fortune. He expected large bills, but instead, he received an envelope with random items. And as he struggled to understand why he denied himself the wealth that he sacrificed for, he found himself held for questioning, and his end flashed before him. But as he struggled to escape, he found that his life rested with the various items now held in his hand.
The clock was counting down the hours left for him to live, but could he trust her? The love they shared was lost to him, but she reached for his heart. And with her help, he would find the answers that slipped through his hands, but as the truth unfolded before him, he realized what he had done. And he knew what he would have to do, alone.
There is no fate but what we make, but his greatest achievement would lead to his destruction. And as his time ran out, he faced the man that would own the world, create the future, and it would be all because of him. And there was no escaping destiny, who lingered across the catwalk, and death held him in its sight. But as he met his future, life found him again.
We fear the unknown future, holding tight to the past, but time will never stop. And we find ourselves falling fast into destiny’s hands, but are we responsible for the world that waits there? Are we the writers of fate, and if we realize what we have done, is there time to undo our mistakes? Or are we prisoners to our end, and it is this fear that drives the heart of Science-Fiction, giving life to movies such as Paycheck.
