PAUL STARK PODCAST - Paul chats about his short film ROLE PLAY and directing a film that's been written by the star of the film!

Paul Stark was born in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, June 11, 1969. His interest for directing motion pictures evolved during his teenage years through his involvement as a cinematographer for special events. After graduating from high school, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, where he graduated with a distinction of honors in the spring of 1992. Still passionate about the arts, Stark returned to his native city, where he became involved back stage with Take 2 Theatre and volunteered as a camera operator for the local community cable station.

In 1994, Stark moved to Toronto to seek more promising opportunities in the film industry. He studied film at Ryerson University and began earnestly directing short films. His education in film continued with private tutoring for acting and directing screen performance. Stark also came to recognize his strength as a writer, and spent much of his spare time nurturing his talent for writing screenplays and travel journals. Over the years, he built a small studio and officially launched it in the spring of 2003 under the name of Stark Productions®. The studio’s recent productions include Gas Station and Role Play – both of which have enjoyed notable success and earned Stark several festival awards for directing, best drama, and audience choice. In 2008, Stark’s new acclaimed film called Time Management helped the Music Teachers’ Association of California launch an initiative to develop emerging composers for scoring film.
