Oliver Stone - Born in New York in 1946, Stone fought in Vietnam, pursuing film upon his return. Applying influences from this experience, Stone was first prolific in screenwriting, (winning a Best Screenplay Oscar for Midnight Express), before recognition as a director. 1986’s Platoon finally put him on the map as a director, winning him the Oscar for Platoon, as well as the beginnings of what would be a career of controversy. Passionate about his ideologies, and innovative in his artistry, Stone helmed such iconic works as Wall Street (1987), JFK (1991), and Natural Born Killers (1994), winning another Oscar for Born on the Fourth of July (1989).
