None of us may choose where we love
But maybe I know myself too well - To understand
Where I will find love although not why
I can divine in which scented grove
The fragrant prize is to be found – sail easily
To the nearest good cove by night or day
There is so much I would like to give
If I knew that affection would be returned
But to throw pearls to the sea?
Can you see then, what you might save
A precious heart but one confounded
By the gifts you gave so freely
So that I am confused which way to go
It must be you and your subtle poetry
Who can coax my heart to thrive
How long would I have to wait
Before another made me feel so alive?
I needn't know
