I felt you drag my body
Across the tile floor
Felt blood drip down my spine
That hadn’t been there before

Ridges raised along my back
As I heard you curse my name
It was then I began to wonder why
You never explained

You probably didn’t know
I was still alive
So caught up in your deed
And that mess of lies

My heart beat faintly
Beneath my scarred chest
Fading in and out
Until there was nothing left

Nothing could save me now
Since the battery wore out
And even if I wanted to
I couldn’t get out

You won the battle
My life or yours
The minute you caused
My death on your floor
