"Wild Hogs" stars John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy. It's the story of a group of middle-aged men whose lives have become boring and uneventful. The daily monotony of their stressful jobs, family responsibilities and lack of excitement caused them to recall the good old days... days where they were full of life and optimism, where they could ride free, live hard and do whatever the wanted. Soon, they all decided to take a road trip on their motorcycles. No cell phones, no rules, no destination... just go where the open road takes them. As their journey unfolds, their friendships are put to the test as things start to go wrong. To make matters worse, they run into the Del Fuegos – a ruthless biker gang who hates wannabe bikers who have nice suburban lifestyles and that think buying a motorcycle and a leather jacket makes them a "real" biker. Things get out of hand between the Wild Hogs and the Del Fuegos, which leads to the destruction of the Del Fuegos' biker bar and their vengeful pursuit of the Wild Hogs, leading to a climactic showdown.
"Wild Hogs" is a bad movie with a good cast. The script isn't very good and the humor is mostly slapstick and homosexual references. However, the cast carries the movie and it's actually quite a lot of fun to watch them goof around on screen. The underlying message is also very refreshing... you're never too old to seek an adventure, to live free and enjoy life... sometimes you just have to "slap the bull." As far as buddy movies go, this one was pretty amusing and enjoyable, despite all the slapstick and gay jokes, and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves "fluff" movies (the kind that just help you pass the time, but really aren't very memorable or awe-inspiring). So, leave your brain at the door and just have a good time watching "Wild Hogs." It's charming in its own silly way and it'll make folks laugh, but it truly is a "fluff" movie... no depth or substance. However, I'll give kudos to the cast for making this movie work! Great job gents!
Brett's Review
*Review Forthcoming* – Let's just say that "Life Happens" and leave it at that. If Brett cares to elaborate on that later, he can. Anyhow, his review is delayed at the moment.
