Synopsis A bumbling canine cop gets exposed to a substance that gives him the powers of a superhero, becoming Underdog (voiced by Jason Lee). He is adopted by a 12-year-old boy (Alex Neuberger) and his dad (James Belushi) and uses his superpower to protect his them and the citizens of Capitol City from the evil Simon Barsinister (Peter Dinklage) and his bumbling henchman (Patrick Warburton). Robert's Review While I'm sure kids will enjoy it simply because it has a talking dog and silly characters, "Underdog" was a total bore for me. The acting was pretty bad all-round and there were very few interesting or exciting parts. The plot was goofy (not in the fun way) and really geared toward kids, but as for me… I actually dozed off towards the end out of boredom and managed to have a good 15 minute power nap. That's about all I can say for this one – if you have kids, take them. If you don't have kids, save your $10 and wait for DVD if you absolutely must see "Underdog." All in all, I'd give this movie 1.5 Super Dogs (out of 5). Re-Watch Value: NONE (unless I have insomnia and need a sleep aid).
Brett's Review "Underdog" was a fun and cute movie. It had all the elements of really brain dead, slapstick humor, sit there and not really think about it type of movie. There were many clichés and the character development wasn't really explored. It was more like the director and producers expected the audience to know who was who without any real explanation. However on the flip side, you really didn't have much to think about, as the story was a typical bad guy-good guy story with a mutated dog as the hero. It's a fun movie for the kids, but the adults just have to grin and bear it. Overall Rating: 3 Villains (Out of 5). Re-Watch Value: Low (I don't know if I'll buy the DVD or not).
