Robert's Review I loved the Simpsons TV show when it came out all those years ago. It had wit, zing and it was a lot of fun. However, that humor has slowly dwindled over the years and the last few seasons on TV have been OK at best. Because of that, I was really worried that this movie wouldn't be very good; worried that all of the good Simpsons gags had been used up over the years – however, I was totally mistaken and very pleasantly surprised! It just so happens that "The Simpsons Movie" does a fantastic job of recapturing the charm and fun of the earlier seasons and the entire movie feels like an extended episode, going way behind the normal 22 minutes, but delivering non-stop laughs and great Simpsons humor. Overall, I was very impressed, had a fantastic time, and I would love to go see this again in theaters. All in all, I'd give this movie 4 Spider Pigs (out of 5). Re-watch value: HIGH Brett's Review Finally, Homer, Maggie, Lisa, Bart and Marge get their own movie! From the opening scene to the ending credits it was one big laugh fest! I was glad to see a movie that goes back to its roots. I was worried that "The Simpsons" wasn't going to get some of the Overall Rating: 4 Spider Pigs (out of 5). Re-Watch Value: High (Yes, yes a DVD purchase for me.) Trivia: (1) For the entire month of July 2007, as part of a campaign to hype the July 27th opening of the movie, 11 "7-Elevens" stores all over North America changed their names to Kwik-E-Marts, and begun selling products like Buzz Cola, KrustyO's cereal, and Squishees - including WooHoo! Blue Vanilla flavor. (2) Twentieth Century Fox registered the internet domain SIMPSONSMOVIE.COM on 22 April 1997, nine years before the movie finally was green lighted. (3) The Simpson's movie will debut in Springfield, Vermont. 20th Century Fox held a contest to select 1 of 16 possible Springfields (spanning from Oregon to Nebraska to Massachusetts) to decide which city will host the premiere. Springfield, Vermont won, just beating out Springfield, Illinois.
