Two co-dependent high school guys want to hook up with girls before they graduate and go off to different colleges, but, after a calamitous night just trying to buy alcohol for a school party, overcoming their separation anxiety becomes a greater challenge than getting the girls. Robert's Review If you loved "Knocked Up" and "The 40 Year Old Virgin" then you'll love "Superbad." I couldn't stop laughing and loved every minute of it. The humor is very juvenile, raunchy, and vulgar… it's a total guy movie. The acting was excellent all-round, but special praise must be given to the male leads (Jonah Hill, Michael Cera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse), who truly embodied their character roles and really made this movie believable and fun. Hill was brilliantly vulgar and obnoxious, Cera was very timid and amusing, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse's McLovin was unbearably funny at times… I AM McLOVIN! My face hurt throughout the entire movie from laughing and smiling so much! This crew of rising stars is really going places and I can't wait for their next movie projects to come out and hit the big screen! Kudos to all involved in "Superbad," you all deserve awards! Overall, I can't wait to see this movie again in theaters (at least 1-2 more times) and I'll definitely buy the DVD when it comes out! All in all, I'd give this movie 4.5 McLovin's (out of 5). Re-watch value: HIGH. Brett's Review If there was ever a movie that was so lifelike to Robert and me it is "SuperBad". This movie was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time, and it hit close to home in more ways than one. From the opening to the ending it was a constant non-stop laugh. The story is hilarious, and the casting was great. The jokes are a little obnoxious but they hit it right smack in the middle, and I don't think I have ever seen a movie with more penis jokes than this one. The three main characters of the movie were outstanding but Christopher Mintz-Plasse who plays Fogell really stepped up and dominated his role. The folks who have done some wonderful movies such as "40 year old virgin" and "Knocked up" have really set precedence with this movie. Fantastic Job guys!!! Overall Rating: 4.5 One Night Mistakes (Out of 5). Re-Watch Value: High (We are going again this weekend and a definite DVD purchase.) Trivia: Writers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg started this script when they were just 14 years old citing the reason as being "we just wanted to see if we could write a movie".
