11 Questions with MICHAEL ONDER. A WILDsound WINTER 2009 One Page Screenplay Winner

1. What is your One Page Screenplay about?

It is about an insomniac who can only sleep at the insomnia support group meetings.

2. Why did you decide to write this screenplay?

I was interested in the problems which the cure only presented itself in the most inappropriate settings. 3. How long have you been writing screenplays?

5 years

4. What is you all-time favorite film? (name only one)

Bananas, Woody Allen 5. What artist in the film industry would you love to work with?

Christopher Doyle (Cinematographer)

6. How many screenplays have you written?

20

7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?

I'd like to have completed writing and directing my first feature

8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?

The idea comes in various ways. Then I procrastinate under the guise of research. Finally write, then rewrite, then rewrite...

9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Directing, cinematography and music.

10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound One Page Script Contest?

It is a nice format that really pushes you to cut your idea down to its essential components, after which you realise you never needed the excess in the first place. Great exercise.

11. Why should people VOTE for your One Page Screenplay and turn it into a film?

I don't know why people should vote for my script and not the others, as I don't know the other scripts or the people. If it helps it's a simple idea with a payoff at the end with a little conflict thrown in.
