Michael Kammes' Blog

Michael Kammes MPSE is a geek. Not a dork, not a nerd, but a geek. Worse yet, he is a sound geek. A member of the MPSE (Motion Picture Sound Editors), Michael edits and mixes in post throughout the Midwest. His award-winning work can be heard on the big screen and on television. Michael's company, Lucid Sound (http://www.lucidsound.com) is based in his native Chicago, Illinois. An Apple Certified Trainer, Michael builds, integrates, and trains on Pro Tools, as well as Final Cut Pro and Avid NLE systems throughout the Midwest in his spare time. This allows him to keep tabs on where the picture post industry is heading, as well as play with the latest gear. Besides, picture editors are just plain hot.

Michael has a B.A. from Columbia College with a concentration in Post Audio, he has done post audio for over forty films and broadcast pieces, and strives to keep post from heading elsewhere after production wraps. And the first round of drinks are on him. michael@lucidsound.com
