Martin Winther graduated from the University of Copenhagen in March 2007 receiving a Master of Arts in Film studies at the faculty of humanities. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Aarhus in August 2003. He has directed several short films, music videos and documentaries. One of Martin's short films “Superhuman” was made for the Danish movie magazine Mifune as a part of the Danish documentary film festival CPH DOX in 2006 in the Sampling & Remix category. Martin's short film “Det Nu” [NOW] had its Danish premiere at the art-house cinema Gloria in Copenhagen in July 2007 and four months later participated in CAN 2007, the 11th Leicester International Short Film Festival.

Martin started out as an editor but quickly moved into the role of directing and has since then moved within the worlds of short films, music videos and documentaries. He recently made a documentary in Israel about a young woman serving in the armed forces. The film is called “Avishag – conversations with a female soldier” and is funded by the Danish Film Institut.

Martin is currently working as a freelance director for the production company Just A Brand in Copenhagen.
