The crazy rush of today's society and the silly things it causes us to do when we're not concentrating.
2. Why did you decide to write this screenplay?
I was inspired by great TV ads. The kinds you like to watch over and over again. I wanted to write something that would 'say' a lot in 1 minute with minimal dialogue.
3. How long have you been writing screenplays?
Over ten years.
4. What is you all-time favorite film? (name only one)
GIANT.
5. What artist in the film industry would you love to work with?
Ron Howard. 6. How many screenplays have you written?
Too many to count. I have learned something from the writing of each and every one of them. Of course, the most recent ones are the best. imho.
7. Ideally, where would you like to be in 5 years?
An A-list screenwriter, working and making a living in LA. In demand by producers everywhere.
8. Describe your process; do you have a set routine, method for writing?
My process... I write everything long hand, then put it into my software program (moviemagic screenwriter). Usually it's mostly evening and late night writing -- hey, life has to be taken care of cus I'm a single writer birthing her verbal children. Often, if I run into a problem with my outline, I can come up with a solution in my dreams. I kid you not! And when I'm writing, I have the TV on... silence would stifle my creativity.
9. Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?
The entire filmmaking process -- from behind-the-scenes jobs to being an extra to editing and the major importance of music to a film.
10. What influenced you to enter the WILDsound Script Contest?
I felt strongly enough about the value of this piece that I did not want it to sit on a shelf in my office any longer. And frankly, I didn't know there was a one-page script contest until now.
11. Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?
It has drama. It has humor. It has social commentary. It makes people think. It's a piece to which people can relate. Once they've seen it, I'm betting there would be a large number of equally embarrassing stories that come out of the 'closets'.
