Zoo is the first film by Luiz Barcellos, who is also responsible for the script.

He worked in other short films as art director and worked and in 2008 as trainee in the feature film “Enquanto a Noite Não Chega”, by the director Beto Souza.

Luiz was born in 1985 in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, and graduated bachelor in Audiovisual at the CRAV film school in Unisinos in 2007, specializing in direction, art direction and animation. He also does some short pixilation animations. He is currently living in Toronto and working in a documentary named "Plane Crazy" by director Lisa Wegner.

The producer, Beto Rôa, who also studyed at Unisinos, has already before worked in several shorts, but it was his first work as production director.

In 2007 Beto wrote and directed the short “The Monk and the Castaway”, produced by Luiz Barcellos.

Beto is currently working on his first feature film named “Alice”, which he wrote and directed.

Zoo has been screened at Cambridge Film Festival, UK.
