Luis Calvo is a writer living in Los Angeles. A Miami native, he has written for the Miami Herald, Hispanic Magazine, the Hollywood Investigator, and Associated Content.
His favorite directors are Tarantino, Scorsese, Coppola, PTA and yeah, Spielberg. His favorite actor is Clint Eastwood. His favorite actress is Salma Hayek. His favorite movies include Boogie Nights and Pulp Fiction. His favorite series include Oz and The Sopranos. He misses Baywatch, Quantum Leap and the original Behind the Music. He gets nostalgic whenever Bad Lieutenant is on IFC. He has never watched two of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, two of the Matrix films, any of Survivor or Lost, any Bond films since Roger Moore, or Twilight, Avatar (yet), or any major Disney movie since The Lion King.
He once had a drink with David Carradine (sniffles, a tear…); snuck into a SAG screening of Kill Bill Vol 1. with an Uma Thurman Q & A afterwards; has the tortured cop from Reservoir Dogs on his Facebook; and almost took an acting class with Maynard from Pulp Fiction.
He has no pets, doesn’t really like sushi and still uses his VCR to record movies.
