REVIEW:

We walk a thin line. Our shield of rights keeps freedom from being torn apart. We're cloaked in dark blue, waiting for heroes to rise. Hope fights to take back the city streets, but are we losing the war? Has the youth gone wild, breaking the foundation that we struggled to build? Is freedom's scream louder than the silence that follows, echoes of those that would abuse and break our rights?

There is no Jack Bauer or Vic Mackey to make things right. Vigilantes live and breathe on pages of pages and on the silver screen. There is just us. Our need for saviors, protectors gives life to men such as Jack Malone and tv shows such as the Cleaner, Law and Order: SVU, and CSI: NY and Miami. Our want for vengeance, our taste for justice creates movies such as the Boondock Saints and the Brave One, but on the other side of the coin are movies such as Runaway Jury. But in the end, there is just us.

The war is still raging, and the streets are far from safe. Subways at night ride along dangerous rails. Feet step over broken concrete lined in blood. Doors and windows are bolt shut, and we tell ourselves that we are safe. But would we be safer hiding behind a gun?

But what would we pay for the need for protection, the want of security? Will our shield of rights cloak us in dark blue, or will we be left out in the cold? The scales of justice weigh heavily, and judgment calls. And in the line of fire, life could be silenced before life could be lived, and what price do we pay for the rest of our lives?

In Liberty Stands Still, we meet a man dedicated to serving and protecting his country. The call for freedom brings him into the line of fire, and lives are placed above his own. And the gun in his hands is his instrument in the cry of battle, but a war rages on at home. And the life of his daughter is lost in a wave of gunfire.

And his objective is to bring down the one responsible for placing a gun in the wrong hands, leading to the death of his child. For him to achieve his goal, a trap must be set, and bait must be found. And once the target is locked on sight, the games begin, and truth waits to be set free.

Horror stories paint the evening news, and tv shows and movies echo of headlines told. And Liberty Stands Still stands alone. This powerful movie will grip you tight in a hand seeking justice. This driven storyline will pull you further and further into the depth of right and wrong. It is an emotional roller coaster riding the rails of suspense and drama, and the core of humanity shines through the cast of actors. And the cry for freedom is silenced by the screams of the heart, love and loss, and the wings of truth will be set free. And we are left questioning what would we sacrifice to live without danger, to live without crime.
