Commentator Recap: Lex Corp – Metropolis The Archvillains of the anchor heroes of both magazines face off. Superman’s nemesis VS Captain America’s arch enemy. Both driven men, both limited in their physical abilities. However, both men’s strategic intellect are through the rough. Both have massive arsenals of soldiers and weapons at their disposal. One is driven by hatred of humanity, the other fueled by his desire to save it. It was surely going to get heated. 4:00 P.M. – Lex sat in his office. Waiting. As he looked at the security monitors on his desk, he could see the devastation and death on the floors below him. Security guards lay on the ground motionless, or crawling for some sort of salvation. The elevator doors opened. Red Skull emerged, brandishing two machine guns. The direct approach. 4:03 P.M. – Lex took cover behind his desk and chair. Red Skull shot up the back of the chair, the bullets bouncing off, revealing an iron backing. Skull moved quickly on the desk, only to find nothing behind it. Just the square tiles on the floor. 4:07 P.M. – After a few minutes of checking out the surroundings with no sign of Luthor, Skull returned to the last place he saw him behind the desk. Stomping on the ground off a hunch, Skull broke through, to reveal a trap door.
4:16 P.M. – Skull made his way through the underground tunnels – leading him to a giant hidden warehouse within the building. The lights dim, but someone had been there. Lex had been there. Lex was still there. Skull, frustrated, opened fire on a crate, allowing him access. Inside, amongst packing peanuts, was a giant high-tech rocket launcher. No hesitation, Red Skull loaded it and fired it randomly towards a giant shelving structure and a support beam, spreading open several crates. 4:24 P.M. – After detonating land mines and using an array of weapons, Luthor sprung out from above a tall shelf, masked in his power suit. Skull didn’t stand much of a chance here. Luthor opened fire and broke Skull no problem with his enhanced suit and mechanics. Skull was dead. WINNER: …. 4:25 P.M. – Luthor’s suit began to malfunction. And move about randomly until it seemed under control and coordinated again. Luthor’s expressions, however, said something very different. He began to walk towards another blown shelving and grab several magnetized land mines and attach them to his own suit. 4:27 P.M. – Red Skull emerged from the drop opening to the hidden warehouse. Passing by the body of another Red Skull, he fired several shots with a revolver, ensuring his death. It was a decoy. 4:28 P.M. – Meanwhile, Luthor quickly and carefully removed himself from his suit. Running from it. Skull moved the controls on a small device, allowing the suit to chase after Luthor. He had taken remote control of it. The devices attached detonated, Luthor was able to stay far enough away to avoid certain death. 4:35 P.M. – Luthor made his way behind a shelving structure and pushed it over, falling onto Red Skull. Luthor attempted to close in on him, but Skull fired the revolver to keep him at bay. After a moment or two, Skull pushed the shelving structure off himself and emerged ready for Luthor. The revolver empty, Luthor charged again, engaging in hand to hand combat with Red Skull. 4:44 P.M. – These two went toe to toe in physical combat. Both taking hard hits to the throat, face, chest, knee caps and the spine. Luthor and Skull were bloodied almost beyond recognition. It was definitely a site that had to be seen. As the fist fighting continued, so did the deterioration of both of their energy. Skull escalated the fight by going after another of Luthor’s stock piled weapons. This one shot seven laser beams from a circular barrel at once. Luthor, surprisingly, had no problem avoiding them. At first that is. The lasers curved and chased after him. Luthor made his way around the warehouse, jumping from crate to crate, climbing shelving, running, jumping, ducking. The whole nine yards. Skull watched, confident, taking aim once again. Luthor made his way around a corner, headed directly in Skull’s direction. Skull took aim, waiting for Luthor to get in a sure-fire distance. Click – a warning display on the guns screen “No power for recharge.” Luthor slid, going right between Skull’s legs as the lasers chased towards him. Skull fell forward to dodge while tossing the gun behind him. The lasers took chase after the gun and barreled into a crate behind, letting loose an old school flame thrower – not used in a while. Lex grabbed ahold of it, turned it on, working perfectly and took aim to Skull on the ground, lighting him on fire until he stopped moving. Winner: LEX LUTHOR Superhero Battle Rules: One hour time limit. Rendering opponent immobile for longer than 3 minutes constitutes a win.
