Laura Perlmutter is an emerging filmmaker/producer working in Toronto, Ontario. After living in Montreal for ten years, working as an actor/production coordinator with Automatic Vaudeville Studios, Perlmutter decided to move to the big city and try a go at directing her own films. Palascintas is Perlmutter's first publicly screened film and is very proud to have its Toronto premiere at the WILDsound Toronto Film Festival. Perlmutter is currently developing a feature documentary on American black historical college and university marching bands with her partner Dylan Young and a short documentary on getting to know the people of Toronto through their pockets.
