About the Book - Author's Note
The Last Rite was published in 2002. I have long been planning three sequels that take Maggie from age 13 to 35, following both her normal development and her discovery of the secret world which exists just below the veneer of our own.
As I worked on the next in the series, The Red Ring, it was pretty clear that the novel worked best in the first person. The Last Rite had been in third person, so in order to make it mesh with the others, I decided to rework the first book to match my plans for the others.
The new draft is also giving me the opportunity to clean up some errors and inconsistencies I noticed in the previously published work, and hide a few clues about Maggie's future!
