Korinna McRobert is an independent filmmaker and actor.
She was born on the 8th of March 1987 (National Women’s’ Day) in Nicosia, Cyprus. Her father is British and her mother is a Greek Cypriot.
Ever since childhood Korinna has been heavily involved in theatre and television, acting and modelling respectively.At 19 she had her first film production experience on Minds Eye Films’ ‘Fractured’, which was shot in Cyprus in the summer of 2006. She was an extra and the Production Assistant.
In September 2007 she went to the University for the Creative Arts to study Film Production.
In the summer of 2008 Korinna got the job of Production and Research Assistant, Assistant to the Director and Translator (she speaks fluent English and Greek) on the documentary film ‘Metamorphosis’, through Roads and Oranges Film Productions, about Cyprus’ modern history. The film is now in post-production.In 2009 she took an interruption year from University and later transferred to another course called Video Arts Production in the same University, which she will continue in 2010. In the interruption year she has worked on the documentary ‘Metamorfosis’, acted in a short film and two commercials in Cyprus. She is now working as a Public Relations Officer for an art promotional company called Gnosyart.
‘Breaking and Entering’ is her first independent project and is based on a personal experience. She wrote, produced, directed and acted in the film. It has been screened at BeFilm The Underground Film Festival, BTUFF, in New York City in May 2009. Also, ‘Breaking and Entering’ was entered in a competition of TheCrane.tv and is showcased on their website, after becoming a finalist in the competition.
