Keith Brink - a young student from Brantford, Ontario, Canada with a passion and drive to create film that is real, powerful, honest, and excellent. "Panic in a Box" is his first short film, his debut into the world of drama, comedy, romance, action, and adventure. He is rejecting the narrow emotional spectrum that mainstream movies have to offer, and he wants to bring into the mainsteam the rainbows of passion that he finds in foreign movies such as Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, Un long dimanche de fiançailles, or Lola rennt.
Keith's logo, revéra, is a Latin word meaning "in reality". As an observer of the world, culture, politics, and especially film, he finds that films are presenting falsity, relationships that are impossible, emotions that are unrealistic, worlds that are fake. He's tired of complacency that he sees all around him, people disengaged from anything but their own lives, uncaring, unfeeling. His love for film, and the realization that film is the most powerful form of communication, is forcing him to pursue not only his own dreams, but also to broadcast a message of hope, honesty, and love. He is shamelessly trying to change the world.
"Panic in a Box" is about hope - or a lack thereof. Without hope, you will find that white walls of despair will start closing in around you. Keith independently wrote, produced, directed, and edited the film, and is currently taking a small break before diving into his next project, as well as getting prepared for post-secondary education. He hopes that you take something back with you from his film, even if it's just a fragment of a thought or emotion.
