Julie Le Gal has performed, created and directed theatre in theUnited States, Europe and Canada.
She was raised in a theatre family in Toronto where she worked as a child actor.
While continuing to work, she studied theatre at l’Universitéd’ Ottawa, then received a Canada Arts Council grant to study theMichael Chekhov Acting Technique in New York City for a one--‐year intensive program.
She co--‐initiated a continuing year of this training, and laterjoined the Actors’Ensemble, New York, an innovative company, fornumerous projects performed in New York City and toured throughout the north--‐eastern USA.
During this period she also created and performed pieces at over50 venues in Berlin, throughout Germany, and in Hungary.
Intensive studies of Rudolf Steiner’ voice method took her to work and perform in Melbourne, Australia.
Having moved back to Canada, while continuing to work internationally and nationally, Julie performed in various theatres in Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton.
On the screen she starred in the feature The Breeder, (EuropeanMotion Pictures), in short films, including Cubed (Right PathPictures) and Butterflies (JYMDICK Productions), and can beseen in a re--‐occurring role in the series Qued de poisson.
