Judd Apatow - Born in New York in 1967, Apatow’s mother worked at a comedy club, and he himself experimented with stand-up at a young age. Not interested in becoming a performer, Apatow parlayed his passion into writing and producing. The comedic connections he made lead to greater film opportunities, such as penning 1996’s The Cable Guy, and producing 2004’s Anchorman. The 40 Year-Old Virgin in ’05 was Judd’s directorial debut, and cemented him as the go-to guy for smart, character-driven, male comedies with heart, and enduring mainstream popularity.
