John McTiernan: Born in New York in 1951, McTiernan would go on to graduate from the American Film Institute. Best know in the action genre, John’s most successful films were the back-to-back Predator (1987), Die Hard (’88), and The Hunt for Red October (’90); The Last Action Hero was his infamous flop of 1993. Most recently, McTiernan has earned renown for his involvement in the Pellicano Hollywood wiretapping scandal, for which he was criminally convicted.
