My name is John Corcoran. I grew up outside Boston, Massachusetts, and was enamored with movies from the very first time I went to the theaters. I graduated from Columbia University with a major in Political Science and a minor in history, even though my favorite classes were in Film Studies. I received my J.D from Georgetown University Law Center.
Currently, I am a lawyer in Washington, D.C. (please don’t hold that against me.) I decided to temper what pays the bills with doing something I really love – being part of a conversation about great film.
My particular interest is political film, especially Cold War cinema. Because interpretation is as unique as fingerprints, I hope to contextualize the movies I review so that you have a better understanding of the environment which produced them and why classic movies are still relevant today.
I am also a passionate college football fan. Go BC!!
